Is postpartum care a must for mothers over 35?


 

Recently, due to the paradigm of marriage not being a must anymore, average age of women giving birth has got older. Eventually, mothers over 35, and in their first birth has increased too. According to NSO (National Statistics Office), the average in age of laboring the first baby is 31.6. This means, it is not abnormal to have a baby after your 30s.
However, when you have conceived in an advanced maternal age, you need to be aware of complications such as; gestational diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and obesity.


The body goes through so many changes and the influences cannot be overlooked. Female in Asia tend to have narrow pelvis than those of western mothers. This body structure makes the whole healing process slow.
